Intro ride

On the second Saturday of each month, we have an Introductory Ride (for adults) starting and finishing at The Reservoir Pub at Earlswood - keeping to quiet lanes and covering between 20 and 25 miles.

The events are a relatively short, easy-paced ride suitable for newcomers or riders who are not yet confident of being able to ride with our main club runs. Riders returning to cycling or those who are still gaining cycling fitness could all benefit from joining these rides.

These rides include a cafe stop en route and return to The Reservoir Pub at Earlswood around 1730. Before leaving home riders should check the Ride Update section on the website Home page.  All rides will finish before dark; however, riders should carry suitable front and rear lights in case they are needed during the ride or to get home.

The rides are not intended as an introduction to cycling, they are an introduction to club cycling. As such a minimum level of fitness is expected. As a guide, participants should be comfortable completing solo rides of over 15 miles and have a well maintained hybrid, touring or road bike. No one is left behind. However, if new riders do struggle with the distance, our routes will usually pass several railway stations; new riders can therefore catch a train back to Birmingham or Solihull if necessary.

There is no charge for the rides - non-HoE CC must complete a "guest rider" form (available from the ride leader on the day)   Non-members may ride on up to three occasions before being required to join HoE CCin order to ride with the club.

The dates are in the Events Calendar and Runs List
