Bike bag to borrow or hire?
« on: 08 December 2015, 11:36 »
Has anyone out there have a bike bag that they would be willing to let me borrow or hire for a planed week of cycling in Lanzarote?  My trip is likely to be departing on 20ish Feb 2016 & returning a week later.  I am planning on flying and need a bag, or maybe a bike box, to transport my bike.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Yep - I have a Carradice bike bag that you're welcome to borrow - have a look at the Carradice website - or ask Clive about it - he borrowed it for a trip to France a few weeks ago.

... and I've also found a set of "fork/stay spacers" to fit in the dropouts when the wheels are out to reduce the risk of them being bent or crushed.

Let me know - it's here in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Hi Rob
Many thanks for the reply and the offer of you bike bag!  Much appreciated!
I have had a look at the Carradice web site but can't find the bike bag.  Any chance you could send me a link?
See you tomorrow.

I don't think it was a top-seller so may have been discontinued? - this link is pretty much the style of it

 http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/rose-containerbag-pro-flight-bag/aid:564398

... a very large zipped bag with straps to carry it, and two separate wheel bags to protect the frame when the wheels are in the main bag.

Best is that if I come to a ride in the car to bring it you can take a look/try it - but ask Clive anyway.
