F&F Wednesday 13 March 2019 Capt. Mike by Dennis

In order to take his mind off his Lent Abstinence, Captain Mike decided to lead 7 of us to the Beach on what was one of the windiest days of the year yesterday.
With no rain evident we decided against coffee at Ditchford Bank and pressed on to 11s and a chat with Rodney in the graveyard of St John the Baptist in Bradley Green.
The wind gusts from the west blowing us towards the curb meant single file and concentration was the order of the day. After a few unnecessary loops we arrived at Piddle Beach and the Anchor Pub by 12:45.
Lunchtime discussions didn't involve Brexit (thank goodness) instead focusing on much more important decisions like when to change your chain, block and chain-rings.
The wind reduced from gale to strong in the afternoon and the sun came out. A pleasant meander through different lanes to the west of Redditch allowing us a strong tailwind push up Cobley Hill and a final beer (or was it Tomato Juice?) at the Coach. 79 Miles.
PS. This week I decided not to send my 'Avon Gazer' picture into Shefali
