3 of us set out from RLE this morning the cloud making riding quite pleasant. We went out through Barford and the Morells to a roadside elevenses on the green at Little Kineton. The number of cyclists out on the roads was amazing, but as the day progressed they became fewer. On arrival at Upper Brailes much to our dismay the pub the Gate was shut and looked like it had been for sometime. After a short discussion it was decided to continue towards home on the Welford option which would take us through Halford about 6.5 miles up the road where there was a pub. This turned out to be a gem "The Halford Bridge" had an acceptable if limited choice of beers and they did sandwiches on a Sunday and a pint and a sandwich was less than a tenner! By now the cloud had burned off and it was a warm ride back to the Coach for a well earned pint or two. 86.5 miles for me.
