Five of us missed a football match or two today. Alan suggested we visited the new Black Country Ales pub, The Cross at Finstall and nobody disagreed so we set off on fairly quiet lanes going via "the bus route" to Sambourne and then Earls Common and Shell Ford before taking a break at Hanbury. It was then just a short ride to our target which was most agreeable and will no doubt feature on occasional future rides. When the sun was a little lower we headed back to Weatheroak where we were joined in the garden by another. 51 miles.
