A cool start from the Red Lion with 5 riders - the Captain, one member and 3 newbies setting off on a gentle Sunday Casual ride across to Fen End and back via Rowington and Lowsonford.
A very minor mechanical and some slight confusion resulted in two of the newbies (husband and wife) abandoning within a couple of miles of the start - then there were 3 for the ride as far as Rowington when one headed for home (assuring me that she would have done the full 25 miles by the time she got home!)
We bumped into, not literally, Rob Bishop on his way to The Case for a beer and then as we approached the Red Lion passed several club stalwarts from days of yore in the shape of Gina, Roy and John Bennett.
26 miles, two short heavy-ish showers, a bit of drizzle and intermittent bright sunshine.
