Three riders joined Captain Tim today for the F&F ride to the Lord Nelson at Ansley. We passed Phil on our way out to Meriden were we cunningly distracted the captain with a local while we slipped into the café for a quick tea and cake. Tim then took us on a tour of north east Birmingham, however he dropped the final loop when we realised the pub was open and the ride back into the wind would be challenging. The pub had a choice of six real ales, five of which were brewed on site, and Tim managed to sample four of them. The ride back went quickly and we once again met Phil buying a Pork Pie in Dorridge. We shortened the ride by going for the post ride drink at Lady Lane rather than the expensive and poor beer at the Coach. An enjoyable day 60 miles for me.
