Six of us at the start of today's ride voted unanimously for a gentle ride for a coffee at Wooton Wawen and then a pub (just for a change). We headed south initially but along the way there was a sneaky change of plan which wasn't communicated beyond the front pair. Just before we reached the revised destination in Astwood Bank the troops behind started to grumble that this wasn't going to be such a short easy ride to Wootton Wawen after all. The brewing rebellion subsided as six antiques rolled into the antique center cafe and a little while later there were no complaints as we continued with the brisk sou'wester blowing us back to the Coach & Horses for the best Old Hooky of the year so far (actually it might be my first but that's besides the point). 38 miles for me.
