There was a greater than normal turnout yesterday, most in eager anticipation of Brian’s ride to Ridge Lane. There were 8 on the ride but I’ve only now realised there were 9 at the meet so hopefully David decided he didn’t fancy a longer than normal ride rather than us losing him as we took a complicated route around the outskirts of Solihull. Just as we were about to get back on the open road Pete suffered a rapid deflation giving us a rest before we pressed on via Little Packington. Not far short of our destination one of Jon’s tyres started to go down but the tubeless sealant worked its magic and before long we were sitting in the picnic area with Tony who boosted our number back up to 9 enjoying the many delights of Church End Brewery. Once our refreshment was complete we descended through the woods before returning home via Shustoke, Maxstoke and Knowle. 67 miles for me.
