First day of May and I have yet to wear cycling shorts this year!
Coldish start on the way to the Red Lion but I soon zipped off the cycling top's sleeves.
At 10 o'clock prompt I set off - well that is the start time!. Although I had asked the peloton to split into two, I hadn't expected it to be me in one section and 14 in the other. Eventually another five joined me.
We routed via Branson's Cross, prodigious use of Redditch's bus lanes, and a rarely used lane at Hunt End. We had a 15 minute elevenses, as we were somewhat ahead of schedule, outside Feckenham - indeed Nigel was moaning about his high average speed!
Through Feckenham, Berrow Hill, Ditchford Bank, The Gambolds, Tutnall and then the last ascent of the day at Cobley Hill, finding the sneaky cut-through to Withybed Green.
The pub were ready for us! Well I say that, there was some confusion over who had paid for what, when and how! Only down side for me was the price of the Butty Bach at over £4.
Thanks to all who rode today.
