Title: Wednesday 10 October 2018

One of the finest October days that I can remember for ages saw 14 riders assemble for the jolly jaunt to Droitwich.
The peloton was was split in to a 5 led by your Captain and 9 led by Nigel.
The five set off at a reasonable pace of 14.5mph, which was maintained all the way to lunch. We routed via cycle lanes through Redditch, Ham Green ( where we had elevenses), Feckenham, Grafton Flyford and then quiet but convoluted lanes so that we took in rarely used ways. Sad to say the old manned, level crossing at Oddingley now has automatic barriers  :( In Droitwich we threaded our way to the erstwhile A38 arriving at The Gardener's Arms at 12.25.
London Pride was in excellent condition, one of the best I've had outside of London.
At 1.30 the five became four and we set off towards Burcot. By now the temperature had risen to the low 20s and it was thirsty work.
54 miles for me at 14.4mph
